Ingredients
- 3 cankidney beans — 15 or 16 oz
- 3 canstewed tomatoes — 16 oz
- 1 cantomato sauce — 15 oz
- 2 lbground beef — middle of 3 grades
- 2 medium onions
- 1-2 cloves garlic
- 3 level tablespoons chili powder — if mild, or to taste
- ¼ teaspoonsalt and pepper — black
- ¼ teaspoonoregano — crushed
- 1 tablespoonsugar
- 2 short shakes cayenne powder
- hot or mild chilies — optional, whole, or both
- 1 tablespoonchili pepper juice — optional
- 1 tablespoonlemon juice — enhances flavor
- ¼ teaspoonmarjoram powder — or a couple shakes
Steps

Fry and separate fat, about 75% of the fat, from the ground beef.

Combine the beef with the rest of the ingredients.

Simmer for about 45 minutes.

Optionally add hot or mild chilies (whole) or both, plus 1 tablespoon chili pepper juice, lemon juice, and marjoram powder to taste.
