Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Kept is a private home for your family's recipes. We built it to preserve something precious — so we treat your data with the same care. We don't show ads and we don't sell your data. This policy explains what we collect and why.

What we collect

  • Your email — to sign you in (we use passwordless email codes/links).
  • Your name and photo — so your family knows who's cooking.
  • Your content — recipes, photos, cook logs, reviews, and comments you add.
  • Usage data — basic, privacy-respecting product analytics (e.g. which features are used) to improve Kept.
  • A device token — only if you turn on push notifications, so we can send them.

The "who you ate it with" and "where" on a cook log are free text you type — we do not collect your device location.

How your content is shared

Your recipes and discussions are visible only to members of your private family circle, unless you explicitly mark a recipe public. We never make your circle's content public on your behalf.

Service providers we use

We share data only with the services that make Kept work:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
  • Vercel — hosting.
  • Resend — sending email (sign-in, notifications).
  • PostHog — product analytics.
  • Anthropic — transcribing/translating recipe photos you choose to scan.
  • Apple — delivering push notifications.

We do not use your data to track you across other apps or websites for advertising.

Keeping it, and deleting it

We keep your content as long as your account is active — the whole point is to keep your family's recipes forever. You can delete your content, or ask us to delete your account and everything in it, at any time. Email us and we'll take care of it.

Children

Kept isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
